🚨 Winter Storm Alert: Preparedness & Communication Are Key! 🚨

January 9, 2025

As our community braces for the upcoming winter storm, it’s a reminder of how important it is to stay ahead of severe weather events like this. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone as we prepare to keep our families, homes, and businesses safe.

However, moments like these highlight areas where our community can do better. As someone who deeply cares about infrastructure and public services, I believe we must take proactive steps to improve snow preparation and communication efforts in our area. Here’s what I would like to see:

 Improved Snow Prep:

 • More timely and strategic pre-treatment of roads.

 • Enhanced equipment to handle snow and ice effectively in our rural and urban areas.

 • Resources for clearing priority routes to keep essential workers and emergency services moving safely.

 Enhanced Communication:

 • Real-time updates on road conditions, closures, and storm impacts from local authorities.

 • Centralized platforms for residents to access reliable storm information.

 • Partnerships with community organizations to ensure vulnerable neighbors are informed and prepared.

      • Info on Warming Centers for the community, should power go out.

 Community Involvement:

 • Increased support for neighborhoods and local volunteers to help each other during storms.

 • A plan to assist seniors, families with young children, and others who may struggle during severe weather.

This winter storm serves as an opportunity for us to work toward stronger infrastructure and better public services—things I am committed to improving if elected. Together, we can build a community that is better prepared, better informed, and better equipped to handle whatever challenges come our way.

Stay Safe & Share Your Ideas: I’d love to hear from you—what changes would you like to see in our snow prep and communication systems? Let’s start the conversation to build a better plan for our community.

Stay warm, stay safe, and check on your neighbors!
