🌨️ Preparing for Winter Weather: Transparency and Leadership Matter 🌨️

January 9, 2025

As we prepare for the upcoming winter storm, it’s inspiring to see neighboring communities like Olive Branch taking proactive steps, including holding meetings to plan for road safety, utility readiness, and public safety. These actions, paired with clear communication, show what effective leadership looks like during critical times.

Unfortunately, here in Senatobia, I’ve heard from many constituents who feel left in the dark. They’ve brought to my attention that while our city may have a plan in place or may have already held meetings regarding this weather event, no information reflecting these efforts has been shared on our government websites or social media at this time.

Why Transparency Needs to Be a Priority:

As someone with experience as a former two-term Alderman in Atoka, TN, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for city leaders to not only prepare but also communicate those preparations clearly to the public. Transparency builds trust and gives residents confidence in their local government.

When communities don’t receive updates, they are left wondering:

 • Are roads being treated?

 • Is the city prepared for utility or drainage issues?

 • How will residents receive updates if conditions worsen?

 What Residents Are Looking For:

Your voices are clear—you’re looking for city leaders to step up and lead with confidence and transparency. Sharing plans, updates, and resources not only prepares residents but also shows them their concerns are being prioritized.

My Commitment to Transparency and Leadership:

If elected, I will work to ensure that our city operates with complete transparency, especially during critical weather events. This means:

Providing Real-Time Updates: Road conditions, closures, and emergency resources should always be available and easy to access.

Proactive Communication: Residents shouldn’t have to guess if their city is prepared—leaders should share plans and actions confidently.

Engaging Residents: Your input matters. Open communication fosters trust and creates a stronger, more resilient community.

We need a city government that takes action and ensures residents feel informed and supported. I’m committed to being that leader and addressing these concerns moving forward.

Stay safe, stay warm, and let’s prepare for this storm together. As always, I welcome your thoughts and suggestions on how we can improve as a community.
